After sparking Minnesota to a 6-2 record in the preseason, Rashad is put his offensive firepower to work when the games count.

The star sixth man was blazing hot from the floor throughout October, and as TwinCites.com noted today, combining No. 1 with sharpshooting teammates Mike Miller and Randy Foye promises a long-distance party for Timberwolves fans this year.

“I think we’re all excited," said Rashad, speaking of Miller. "The addition of another scorer makes us that much more of a threat.”

FIRESTARTER
Followers of the Wolves should be ecstatic about No.1’s play during the exhibition games. He averaged 13.3 points per game and made 27 of his 31 free-throw attempts. The Wolves guard also connected on eight three-pointers.

SEASON OPENER
Rashad starts the year against Kevin Martin and the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday at 8 p.m.

Last season, Rashad helped Minnesota go 2-1 against Sacramento. In those three games, No.1 put up 23.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per contest, while also knocking down a whopping total of nine 3-pointers.

The Kings were the first team the Wolves defeated last year, when Rashad rang them up for 33 points in a 108-103 win on November 14, 2007.
