Tough Time in D-Town
by Jason Grodsky
Coming off his best month of his career, No. 1 had a rare off night on Tuesday, and it's no coincidence that the Timberwolves did, too.
Rashad scored two points, dished out two assists and grabbed three rebounds in Minnesota's 94-90 loss to Detroit (53-21).
Rashad's only basket was a thunderous dunk midway through the second quarter that gave Minnesota (19-54) a 19-point lead at the time. Unfortunately, No. 1 was held scoreless the rest of the game and the Pistons came back to overtake the lead in the second half.
It's only the second time since the All-Star break that Rashad has been held to under 10-points in the scoring column.
CAREER MONTH
Rashad and the Timberwolves are wishing March would have never ended.
In 14 games, Minnesota's top reserve came off the bench to average 16.2 points per game and shot 47 percent from the field. Only once in the month of March did No. 1 fail to reach double-figures in scoring.
March turned out to be the Timberwolves best month too. Minnesota posted its best record of the season, going 7-7.
NEXT UP
Rashad and Minnesota hit the road to try and upset Utah (49-26) tonight for the second time in a week at 8 PM.
